Dangerous Tap Water Contaminants on the Rise

Recent studies have shown that contamination of our water sources is on the increase by dangerous tap water contaminants such as endocrine disruptors, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products.

Drugs on tap.The endocrine system is a system of glands, each of which secretes different types of hormones directly into the bloodstream to maintain vital bodily processes, such as temperature or pH regulation, or the hormones necessary for reproduction.

Endocrine disruptors include many pharmaceuticals like steroids. Chemicals in personal care products, and pesticides also disrupt the endocrine functions of all living things. The steady increase of these substances in our environment and water sources should be an alarming concern for everyone, however, little is being done to stem this pollution.

Many research studies by scientific institutions and Universities have repeatedly indicated that reverse osmosis systems (RO) is a highly effective means to reduce the concentration of dangerous tap water contaminants from drinking water. During these studies it was found that RO membranes are capable of removing nearly all endocrine disrupting compounds.
