The Sediment filter used in this housing is made of durable, non-woven polyester media. It can be removed, washed and reused several times before the need to replace it.
You can have a second sediment filter, at the ready for a quick change out. Then wash the first one at your convenience to make ready for the next filter change.
This housing is just like the original blue-colored housings, only the housing sump is clear so you can see right through it.

Probably the best place to install this filter housing is where your main water line comes into your home. This may be a utility room, or maybe your basement.
Install anywhere after your main water shut-off valve, but before your water softener, if you have one.
Due to its large diameter size, it’s probably better to locate it in a utility room, basement, or elsewhere. Anywhere its easy to access. You could even install it in an attached garage if there’s never a chance of freezing
The Housing Cap features a red pressure-relief button so that you can relieve any pressure within the system. This will make it easier to unscrew the housing when you change out the filter.
The housing sump and cap material are constructed from FDA-approved, food-grade polypropylene and acrylic, so the materials will not react with any chemicals that may flow through it.
